T.J. Dillashaw defeats Renan Barao via TKO (Round 4, 0:35)
Former champion Renan Barao looked a lot more competitive in Round 1, landing some decent shots on the incumbent title holder. As the fight wore on, T.J. Dillashaw maintained his stance as the faster, more energized fighter to retain his title and cement himself as the undisputed bantamweight champion.
Miesha Tate defeats Jessica Eye via unanimous decision (30-27 x 3)
Jessica Eye brought lots of stand-up confidence into the co-main event against Miesha Tate, landing several clean punches onto her opponent’s face. Tate gets lit up for good portion of Round 1 before Tate lands a heavy right hand, dropping Eye and taking side control for the remaining minute. Tate maintains much of that striking confidence heading into the final two rounds.
Edson Barboza defeats Paul Felder via unanimous decision (29-28 x 3)
Paul Felder clipped Edson Barboza with a left hand early, swelling the Brazilian’s right eye up from the get go. Both men looked really eager to land spinning attacks, making for a lot of back and forth action from rounds 1-3.
Joe Lauzon defeats Takanori Gomi via TKO (Round 1, 2:27)
Jose Lauzon (25-10) did exactly what he wanted to do when getting Takanori Gomi (35-10) to the ground early on. The Pride legend had no answer for the fifth-best finisher in UFC history. Several unanswered punches and Lauzon lifted himself off Gomi’s back, and seemingly called the bout over himself. It was a strange twist, seeing as referee Herb Dean didn’t wave it off until three or four seconds after Lauzon walked away.
