Matches to Round out WWE Survivor Series 2015

The 2015 edition of WWE Survivor Series is just a few weeks away and, at time of publication, we’ve got just two matches confirmed. Seth Rollins will defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against a one-time teammate in Roman Reigns and, similarly, Charlotte will defend her Diva’s Championship against a former ally in Paige.

Both matches have plenty compelling backstories and figure to be worthy inclusions to the card. That said, the WWE obviously can’t produce a near three-hour extravaganza with just two matches. No, in the coming weeks the WWE will be announcing matches and making adjustments to the card. Before they do, let’s take a look at some matches that could help round out the Survivor Series card.

The Wyatt Family vs. The Undertaker, Kane, Mystery Person 1 and Mystery Person 2

The Brothers of Destruction reuniting to take on the Wyatt Family is all but assured at this point. Not only has Wyatt kidnapped the two monsters, but now he’s spouting off about how he’s absorbed their powers. Not to mention that this pay-per-view is celebrating 25 years of The Undertaker. The question is, who will join the two demonic brothers. That remains to be seen, but I wrote a piece suggest some viable options just last week.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Tyler Breeze

Yet another matchup that seems more likely than not. Tyler Breeze has focused his attention on Dolph Ziggler since debuting last month, he’s stolen his girl, attacked him and cost him matches in recent weeks. It makes sense that he’d target Ziggler, he’s a flamboyant showman and, in the mind of Prince Pretty, there’s only room for one of them in the WWE.

United States Championship: Alberto Del Rio(c) vs Jack Swagger

The All-American American, Jack Swagger, took notice when his former manager, Zeb Colter, took on managerial duties for Alberto Del Rio. Colter, when managing the duo of Swagger and Cesaro, was hardly shy when his came to his views on illegal immigrants. Nothing’s been said to suggest that Del Rio is one, but he does go by the moniker of “Mexican Aristocrat.” His heritage alone makes the two a curious pairing. Swagger presumably retains the views instilled by Colter and will look to take the championship bearing his home country from Del Rio.

World Tag Team Championships: The New Day (c) vs. The Lucha Dragons

With a win over a formidable pairing in Sheamus and King Barrett on the latest edition of Raw, it looks as though the Lucha Dragons are next in line to challenge the New Day. With the high-flying ability of Kofi Kingston and the Lucha Dragons, and the ability of Big E to toss the latter two around, this promises to produce a fun series of matchups. What may be even more fun is how New Day chooses to belittle their latest challengers.

Five-on-Five Elimination Match:

Cesaro, Dean Ambrose, Neville, Ryback and Mystery Person

vs.

Sheamus, Rusev, Kevin Owens, King Barrett and The Miz

If the main event of this past Raw, a five-on-five elimination match, is any indication, the WWE wants to go back to its roots with this year’s Survivor Series. That’s a great thing as those matches were a unique hallmark for the event. It also gives the WWE a chance to get many deserving superstars on the card. In this instance, there’s one spot left ambiguous. Perhaps to be filled by a returning Daniel Bryan or Randy Orton. Another intriguing option would to include an NXT superstar, Sami Zayn may be ready to return from his injury and has a history with Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens.
