The most electrifying man in all of sports entertainment is officially coming home for the biggest night of the year.
Former 10-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has confirmed he will be at WrestleMania 32, set to take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The Rock wrote in a caption on Instagram Monday accompanied by a short clip of highlights:
“IT’S OFFICIAL: People’s Champ is coming home to do 3 things with THE PEOPLE: Set an ALL-TIME attendance record, ELECTRIFY Dallas like never before & make all time #WRESTLEMANIA history. And we have FUN. Ok that’s four things but you know what the hell The Rock’s sayin’… THANK YOU #WWEUniverse! It’s always an honor coming home and I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
The Rock has not wrestled consistently since 2013, defeating former champ CM Punk to become a WWE Champion for the 10th time in his career. He would wind up giving up the title to John Cena at WrestleMania 29, subsequently taking time off to take care of an injury sustained during the match.
He’s made part-time appearances over the past couple of years, returning for WrestleMania XXX in 2014 alongside Stone Cold Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan. He also made an appearance at this year’s Royal Rumble to help his real-life cousin Roman Reigns get past Kane and Big Show.
The Rock was most recently seen wrestling alongside former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 31, as the pair of athlete-actors took on Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. Much of his time away from the ring has been spent acting on the silver screen, becoming the 11th-highest-paid actor in 2015, according to Forbes.
